OUR STORY

Growing joy, memories, & simple times.

Hello. I'm Kristen. I'm a teacher, converted flower farmer, and I love this new adventure our family is on.

At the end of 2019, my husband, Amir, and I made the move from suburban life to country life as we received the keys to our 100+ year old farmhouse and beautiful piece of land.

Since then, we have spent our days immersed in home renovations, gardening, beekeeping, and raising our two sweet babies on our little slice of heaven.

As a suburban girl, converted to the country life, I have quickly learned that although this life takes a tremendous amount of work, the rewards are extraordinary.

We love our farm and we love sharing it with all of you. Seeing the joy and memories our farm creates in the simple times spent here is why we do what we do.

ABOUT FABEE'S SIMPLE FARM

When I first met Amir, my gardening knowledge was limited. I knew his vegetable garden was very important to him, so I was determined to learn from him and share this interest. I never expected to dive in and love growing as much as I do. I soaked in everything he taught me and started channeling this knowledge down a different path, a path filled with flowers. Before both of us knew it, his vegetable garden started shrinking & shrinking, as I inched my way in with more & more beautiful blooms.

When we found our new home, one of the first things we did was expand our gardens and start growing on a greater scale. I wanted to grow & share these magical flowers with our friends, family, and community, so in 2020,

Fabee's Simple Farm was born.

Since then, we have continued to grow, expand, and share our flowers. We currently grow flowers, vegetables, & fruit on about 2 acres of land. We specialize in growing cut flowers for sale. There are numerous varieties on our farm but the ones you can find in the most abundance are lisianthus, dahlias, peonies, sunflowers, zinnias, celosia, & gladiolus. You can enjoy our blooms through a variety of avenues. They are available for custom orders or small events. We also sell to local florists and in local markets. We have especially enjoyed adding on the opportunity to come out to the farm, learn something new, pick your own flowers, enjoy other local businesses, and just enjoy the great outdoors on our flower farm.

THE STORY BEHIND THE NAME

When I was teaching fifth grade math and science, I had one group of kids that ignited this passion for honeybees. It was all they ever wanted to learn, so we transformed our life science class into bee class.

I had no idea that this small spark would spread like wildfire. It was all they could talk about as soon as they stepped in my room. They created a lofty goal to educate the rest of the school about the importance of honeybees, share about the current population decline, and fundraise enough to start up beehives at our school. To my amazement, the buzz for bees had spread & this special group of kids gained the support of the entire student body, the staff, and families. My class ended their school year, grinning ear-to-ear, all decked out in bee suits, as they helped a beekeeper install beehives at our school.

Not only did this spark spread throughout the students at our school, but it also spread to me. Long story short, I began this school year with next to no knowledge about honeybees and ended this school year as a beekeeper.

My students were thrilled that I now had a beehive at my home as well. They were adamant about naming the queen bee of my hive. They threw around names constantly from Sting to Bee-younce, but nothing stuck. Until one student said, "I've got the name, Mrs. Faghih.

Let's name her Mrs. Fabee!"

Thank you to this special group of kiddos.

You taught me so much that school year.

The joy, passion, perseverance, kindness, & friendship that you created in our little community is something that we want to shine through & live on in Mrs. Fabee at our farm.
